TrackCam - Setting Up Notifications for Rules

Navigate to your TrackCam portal. Then click Admin > Rules (click on the Safety Management tab for default rules), and scroll down to the rule you wish to edit. Click the Pencil icon all the way to the right of the rule.



(If you do not see the Pencil icon, zoom out on your browser until it appears - sometimes it gets cut off the page.)

Scroll down to the Trigger Actions and check the box that says "Send Event Notification".  In the area that pops up below, select Event Type: Email, Email To: Custom, and Choose Recipients from the drop down list. These will be email addresses of users who are already in the system.



(If you do not see the email address you want to send the notification to, you will first need to add that person as a user and then their email will be available to receive notifications.)

Scroll back up to the top and hit Save.

You will receive email notifications with a link to the snapshot of the exception; in some cases, you may receive the email before the footage has completed uploading to the portal. If you click on the link and you are taken to a map with no footage, please give it a little more time for the data to be received and try again.

To remove a notification from a rule, follow these steps and Uncheck the Send Event Notification box.  The rule will still capture the events but you will not receive an email notification.

(Remember - email notifications may not be necessary for every rule! Only add notifications for events you need to know about in real time in order to take action.)
