TrackCam - Infrared (IR) Camera Issues

The TrackCam AD Plus cameras have an infrared camera that automatically comes on in low light conditions for recording footage at night.  There is no setting to disable or adjust this on the camera, it is built in.

If you think the camera is not working properly in low light conditions, test the IR lights. During the day, cover the cabin cam light sensor in the photo below and see if the four IR lights surrounding the camera lens light up. At night, have your drivers keep an eye out for those lights and report back to you what they observed.

The IR camera takes about 5 seconds to identify changes in light and turn itself on or off. During dawn or dusk hours, the IR camera may have some difficulty in sensing the light levels and properly adjusting itself; this is normal. Please also ensure the cabin view is free of reflective vests/stripes or equipment that would create a glare of any ambient light toward the lens, as this could trick the camera into thinking there is an adequate amount of lighting and would not switch to infrared mode.

If those lights do not come on in darkness, there is a problem with the device - please reach out to support@gotrackcam.com for assistance.
